SR-SFLL: Structurally Robust Stripped Functionality Logic Locking

Abstract Logic locking was designed to be a formidable barrier IP piracy: given logic design, modifies the design such that circuit operates correctly only if operated with “correct” secret key. However, strong attacks (like SAT-based attacks) soon exposed weakness of this defense. Stripped functionality (SFLL) recently proposed as variant locking. SFLL resilient against SAT attacks, which bane conventional techniques. all SFLL-protected designs share certain “circuit patterns” expose them new employ structural analysis locked circuits. In work, we propose methodology— Structurally Robust ( $$\mathcal{S}\mathcal{R}$$ S R -SFLL )—that uses power modern satisfiability and synthesis engines produce semantically equivalent circuits are attacks. On our benchmarks, able defend instances both while were broken when defended using SFLL.
